Creepy Halloween Story.
It was the night of Halloween. My mom and I were sitting at the kitchen table carving our pumpkins for the annual pumpkin carving contest. As we wee carving away, we heard a knock at the door. I jumped up out of my seat and ran to the sink to wash my hands. I walked to the door and opened it. No one was there. I looked all around but no one was in sight. Then, I looked down and there was a pumpkin sitting on my front porch. I went to pick it up and then I realized it said "Beware" carved in shaky handwriting. I was freaked out. I held the pumpkin close to my chest and ran back inside to show my mom. I walked to the table where we were sitting but my mom was no longer there. I yelled her name, but no reply. I ran upstairs to look for her, but still no luck. Then, I heard a scream from outside. I ran back down my steps and there, sitting on the table was another pumpkin. This one was even scarier. It said, "Follow the pumpkins if you ever want to see your mother again." I quickly opened the door to go outside in search of the pumpkins. One was sitting on my front step. It said, "Cold." Then, I walked out of the garage and saw another one. This time it said, "Warmer." The next one was in my driveway. It said, "Warm." The next was across the street in front of my house. It said, "Hot." Then, I saw the final pumpkin. It was sitting at the opening of the woods. It said, "Gotcha!" I looked around to see what it meant. Then, all of a sudden, my mom and 10 of my friends jumped out of the woods and scared me. I screamed so loud that the whole neighborhood could hear. Everyone started laughing at me. It was O.K. though. Next year was my turn to get revenge!
